Comb your hair through with a wide-tooth comb before you blow-dry, going from the tips upwards so that the tangles don't pull down to the bottom.
Rough-dry your hair first and then you can section and blow-dry using a brush. Just make sure you comb the tangles out beforehand and point the dryer straight down if you want to prevent tangles.
Leave-in conditioner is also good for detangling. And obviously a detangler.
